LVSWSB wishes to inform firms participating in the tender, that clarifications have been deemed necessary, calling for addenda to the tender and extension of the closing date as shown below:

SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF PIPES, FITTINGS &WATER METERS


 

1. The Lake Victoria South Water Services Board (LVSWSB) (herein called 'The Client') invites interested qualified suppliers to submit bids for the Supply and delivery of Pipes, Water Meters and associated Fittings.

2. The scope of the supply and delivery shall include but not limited to the following

  1. UPVC Pipes of class D of Dia 110-63mm
  2. GI Pipes of Dia 100mm-50mm
  3. Valves
  4. GI Pipe fittings
  5. UPVC Fittings
  6. Water Meters of Dia 210-15mm-100No

3. Eligible firms must meet the following minimum criteria: -

  1. Valid Tax compliance Certificate by Kenya Revenue Authority
  2. Valid Trading License
  3. Experience in supply of pipeline and accessories of over 20km
  4. Average annual financial turnover of at least Kshs 20Million over the last 3 years- 2010, 2009, 2008 as proved by audited books of account
  5. Legal existence of the firm for at least the last three years and location of head office of the firm.
  6. Manufacturers Authorization for product to be supplied
  7. Tender security of 2% in the form and from source specified in the tender documents.

4. The bids, one original and three copies of each lot shall be submitted in clearly marked "Tender No. LVSWSB/T/18/2011-12; Supply and Delivery of Pipes, Water meters and Fittings" on the outer envelope and deposited in the Tender Box at Lake Victoria South Water Services Board before 10.00 am of 4th November 2011 at the address below:

5. Submitted bids will be opened immediately thereafter the closing time in the presence of bidders who may wish to attend.

6. Interested bidders may collect the bid documents from the Procurement Office, Lake Victoria South Water Services Board between 800am and 500pm; Monday- Friday, at the address indicated above upon payment of a non refundable fee of three thousand Kenya shillings only by bankers cheque.

7. The Lake Victoria South Water Services Board is not bound to accept the lowest or any tender it receives.

Interested Contractors who are registered in relevant trades and categories, by Ministry of Public Works (proof of registration required) may obtain tender documents from Chebara Boys Secondary School in person or against written application. Non-refundable tender fee, as indicated, is payable in Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of Chebara Boys Secondary School at the School Cash Office before 4.00pm on normal working days.

Interested bidders should note that only those meeting the criteria indicated below as a minimum, supported by relevant documents at submission, will be considered for further evaluation.

  1. Certificates indicating the category Registered in from the relevant ministry. 
  2. Adequate equipment and key personnel for the specified types of works. 
  3. Sound financial standing and adequate access to bank credit line. 
  4. Certified copy of valid Tax Compliance Certificate. 
  5. Litigation history of the company (both court and arbitration cases). 
  6. Confidential business Questionnaire.

Tenders in plain sealed envelopes, marked ‘tender number’ on the right hand side comer and bearing no indication of the tenderer should be addressed to:

Submitted bids will be opened publicly in Chebara Boys Secondary School immediately thereafter the above stated closing date and time in the presence of the tenderers or their representatives if they wish. Prices quoted must remain valid for one hundred twenty (120) days from the opening date of the tender. 

The bid Security which must be from an established bank, or approved insurance company shall be valid for one hundred and fifty (150) days from tender opening date.

Note: The Chebara Management Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any tender application without giving reasons for its rejection and does not bind itself to the lowest tender.
